Family Worship

New to Tega Cay Baptist Church?

Welcome and thank you for visiting our website! We would like to extend an invitation for you to join us Sunday morning at 9:15 for small group bible studies and 10:45 for Worship. Our dynamic and exciting bible studies are available for all ages. This is the place to plug into a small group and delve into the riches of God’s holy word.

During our Worship service, Nursery and Preschool care are provided for children up through age 5. We encourage older children to worship with their families. Family Worship allows parents to shepherd and disciple their children through the worship process. Some of the incredible benefits of children in worship include their witnessing of:

  • Biblical preaching
  • Congregational singing
  • Reading God’s Word
  • Communion
  • Giving and Tithing
  • Sharing of testimonies

Children can follow the service with a sermon-specific children’s bulletin which may be picked up in the foyer before entering the Sanctuary. For practical tips and help on training your children to sit with you during worship, we highly recommend reading “Parenting in the Pew: Guiding Your Children into the Joy of Worship” by Robbie Castleman. This book is available free upon request from any of our Welcome Team members.

Testimonies from Families about Children in Worship:

As a parent my main purpose is to teach my two sons about God.  One way that I do this is by having them attend worship service with my husband and I.  Participating in the worship songs and hearing God’s word teaches them about God.  After church while having lunch, I ask the boys a couple of questions from the sermon and we discuss how we can apply these Godly principles to our daily lives.  I treasure these times and am amazed at what the boys remember from the sermons.”

“At first, I was not so sure about having our son Blake worship with us on Sunday mornings.   I started noticing other families in the church worshipping each Sunday with their children sitting beside them and they were doing it well, so I decided to follow their lead. What an awesome decision that was! Blake has been able to see firsthand what worship is about. He sees that what he learns in Sunday school, Sunday Night Live, and VBS is what we are all learning about regarding the truths of the Bible and how to have a saving relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. Blake also feels such a connection now with his church family; he truly feels like he is part of the body of Christ at Tega Cay Baptist Church. I would encourage other families to give family worship a chance…you may be like me and wonder why you weren’t on board from the beginning!”

“As a grandparent whose grandchildren live far away, I really enjoy our Family Worship.  One of the things that stands out to me is the smiling faces and loving hugs the children share during the fellowship time.  It allows me the chance to grandmother some of our little ones.”
