Prayer Points: Thirst Conference edition

Psalm 85:6 asks, “Will you not revive us again that your people may rejoice in you?” We are to view this as an invitation from God to pray for revival in our church. Pray that we will be characterized by fervent love for God, genuine love for others, and a oneness in spirit as a congregation. May the Lord give Tega Cay Baptist Church a clear testimony of the goodness of Christ to our community. Also, pray for the conviction of sin. We suffer from the sin of materialism, temporal values, pride, indifference, laziness, lack of love, impurity, and worldliness. Pray for a renewed commitment and obedience to the authority of Scripture and the lordship of Christ. Pray also for those who say they know Christ but are not born again that they will recognize their need for salvation.

Prayer points for today:

  1. Pray for Charity Nanney – Children’s minister
  2. Pray for Debbie Browning – Pianist
  3. Pray for Hannah Robinson – Children’s minister

Tega Cay Baptist Family and Friends,

Prayer Points: Thirst Conference edition:

The next two weeks of Prayer Points devotionals will focus on preparations for the upcoming Thirst Conference taking place October 12-15 and is taken primarily from material from Life Action Ministries.

Effective revival praying should include these three essential ingredients: Praise/Thanksgiving, Confession and Supplication/Intercession. It is God’s will that His children give thanks (1 Thess. 5:18). How would you feel if your children were always asking you for things, but they never said thank you or told you that they love you? Sometimes we must hurt the heart of our heavenly Father by constantly making requests but failing to express adequate love and appreciation. We must also confess our sin. There is no sin too small to hinder prayer. As you pray for revival, remember that humility, confession, and repentance are prerequisites for cleansing, forgiveness, and restoration of God’s blessing. Last, we must ask God who has promised to respond to the fervent heart crises of His children. Intercession carries with it the thought of literally going before God to plead on behalf of another.

Remember to give thanks, confess and ask God for His blessing during the next few weeks.

In Christ Alone,

Brad

The Joys of Heaven

Memory verse for this week

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4

The list of  hardships is not intended to be exhaustive. The point is that all consequences of sin will be gone. Those who are in Christ by faith are saved from the penalty of sin yet we are still living in the world of sin. Sin and its ugly consequences are all round us. Yet when we are in heaven we will once and for all be removed from the very presence of sin. Now we must deal with the plank in our own eye, but then we will be set completely free. Now we must deal with the burden of the consequences not only of our sin but the sin of others, but then we will bask in the indescribable Christ and be free from any burden. The glories and joys of heaven will more than compensate for the sickness of this world.

Prayer points for today:

  1. Thank the Lord for His great heaven and His Son who provided a way for us to be forgiven.
  2. Pray for the Thirst Conference.
  3. Pray for the team members: Andrew Clemons (prayer intercessor), Angela Schwartz (children’s minister), Angela Toth (business manager)

In Christ Alone,

Brad
