While on Sabbatical…

main image

As you know, Brad, Michelle, and their family will be away this month on sabbatical. Please take a moment to pray for them. Pray that God would speak to them, refresh them, and give them strength. Also pray for Tega Cay Baptist Church as we continue to seek how we can honor God through reaching our growing community for Christ and discipling our congregation to live on mission with God.

Pray and Watch

Memory Verse

O LORD, in the morning you hear my voice; in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for you and watch.” Psalm 5:3

The two words, “O LORD”, communicate a desperate need for God. If we do not recognize our need for God then our prayers become more mechanical and originating from the mind instead of the heart. Twice in this short verse, King David, says he calls out to God in the morning. The morning is a good time to set aside to worship, read His Word, and call upon His name. Nothing is too big or too small to bring before God. What are the unexpected circumstances that have crept into your life? Lift them before the Lord. What are your specific needs today? Bring them to Jesus. After you have prayed watch for God to work, open doors, and make provisions. He is faithful.

 Prayer point:

  • Heavenly Father, how wonderful it is that You invite me into Your presence every morning. Strengthen me to set aside adequate time to seek You and the faith to watch how You lead in love and wisdom.

Your Household

Your Household

Memory Verse:

“And they said, ‘Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.’” Acts 16:31

Paul and Silas had been beaten and put in prison by ungodly magistrates (16:19,20). While in jail they sang hymns and prayed as the other prisoners listened. An earthquake shook the foundation of the prison and all the doors opened and their bonds were unfastened. The Philippian Jailer asked what he must do to be saved. The answer is simple belief. Be on guard against attaching any legal requirements of man. Simply believe and you will be saved. This verse does not teach that people are saved in groups (i.e. household). Each person must come to Christ on his own and express personal faith in the risen Savior in order to be saved. Salvation is not automatic. Pray for the members of your household. Pray for you children and others in your family.

Prayer points:

  • Father, help me to bring those in my household to faith in You as Savior.
